We are down to the final days of preparation before the world arrives on our doorstep. It promises to be an amazing tour of cultures and experiences while showing off what a diverse place we live in. We wanted to give you a preview of what to expect at Taylorwood Wines in the month of February.

On February 4th, we are featuring 8th Generation winery from Summerland, B.C. After this tasting we will be suspending our regular tasting schedule until March 4th. Also, we are extending our hours to better accommodate the flurry of activity, so from Feb 10th - 28th inclusive we will be open from 11am until 11pm every day. Other than that, you can still expect the same friendly faces to help you with your wine purchases and we hope to see you all out enjoying the festivities.

Bring on the parades, the jugglers, the live bands and the food stands! No, the circus has not come to Yaletown, but something far better! We are very privileged to be part of the only outdoor entertainment event other than those put on by VANOC and it's free! Starting on Feb 11th , Mainland St. will be pedestrian traffic only from 10am-midnight everyday. Have no fear, the cars will not be missed. Starting Feb 13th in their place will be busking stations with performers of all kinds who have auditioned for their spot, local restaurants will have food stations for satisfying your hunger and, of course, people! The torch will also be making an appearance on the streets of Yaletown Feb. 12th before it finds it's permanent home for the games.

Hamilton St. will remain open until 5pm every day. From 6:30pm-830pm the Coca Cola parade will be giving out all sorts of Coca Cola goodies and hugs. They are a friendly bunch! There will be three stages set up permanently for the duration of the games with live music from 2pm-10pm daily. Capones Restaurant and Live Jazz Club generously sponsored one stage so come all ye jazz lovers!

Just a reminder to you all we have a small collection of Olympic products. We are carrying the collector pins, umbrellas, mascot ice packs , Excel mint tins and maple leaf stamped gum. We are proud to support a local venture as well with the Van'Kerchiefs. For those who have not heard it is the vision of Jon Paul Holt of Avantgarde Hair Salon. It is a silk printed scarf in red and white for $10 with a dollar of each sale going to B.C. Children's Hospital. A great opportunity to support a local Charity, show your patriotism and back a locally made product!

To help keep everyone out of trouble here is your chance to improve your Valentine's Day by remembering to get your sweetheart something. And what better than something you can share! We can help you pair it with a special meal or just pick your new favourite. We even have some great "pinks" back. Rosés are fantastic on their own or for matching with food as they go with everything.
